SNEAKED DAYS
Project from Poland. DIRECTOR - Artur Wyrzykowski. TUTOR - Denijal Hasanović.
Adam has just le the hospital. He talks to Waldek and Jasmine, who will soon take over the care of his daughter Pyska. He will bring her tomorrow, but first he wants to make her dream come true. He gives them money and looks at her future room. He doesn't want to tell his daughter the truth. She will find out when it is all over. He returns to his town. Pyśka falls into his arms like a hurricane. He says he has to go back to the hospital for a check-up and she will live with a distant family. Pyśka doesn't want to, but her dad convinces her that they will first go on a trip and see the horses. When they make dinner together, he teaches her how long pasta takes to cook. In the morning, Pyśka sees that Dad is very sad. She offers him a sneaked day. They will go to see horses tomorrow, and today they can do whatever they want, as they have no plan. Adam falls asleep in solace. In the a ernoon they go to the open swimming pool. The girl wants to go on the slides, but her dad tries to teach her how to swim. Not much comes out of it. The next day they take a bus through the Lower Silesian countryside. They get off in a small town and walk to a stud farm through the forest. Pyśka scans the plants with her phone and reads their descrip ons. The farmer s ll has to finish something, so he shows them the alpacas. Pyśka is delighted, they are so cute! Then they both lie down in the pleasant shade. Pyśka asks what was the last thing her mother said. She was talking about Pyśka's cold medicine. So she was thinking about her at the end. Later, Pyśka stands in front of the horse that the farmer is holding. She is scared. She tells her dad to come here tomorrow. She wants a sneaked day to build up her courage. In the evening he carries her in his arms and she falls asleep from exhaus on. When he lays her down on the hotel bed, Pyska, full of energy, jumps on the sheets and laughs at the mischief. Adam catches her and ckles her. She laughs. Adam is in the shower when a coughing fit hits him. He collapses to the floor. He is thin, crooked, frightened. Single images appear: grass, apples in the trees, the smiling face of an older man. He recalls holidays with his grandfather when he was Pyśka's age. Grandpa would hug him and tell him that everything would be fine.
